Mnemonic Entropy

Mnemonic entropy refers to the randomness used to generate a seed phrase, which is the foundation of a wallet's security. If the entropy source is weak or predictable, an attacker could potentially brute-force the seed phrase and steal the associated funds.

High-quality entropy is typically generated by a cryptographically secure random number generator, often built into the hardware wallet. The entropy is converted into a list of words using the BIP-39 dictionary, making it easier for humans to manage while maintaining high security.

The strength of the mnemonic is directly proportional to the amount of entropy used. Users should never attempt to create their own seed phrases manually, as human choices are rarely truly random.

Trusting the device's entropy generation is essential for maintaining the integrity of the private keys.
