MEV-Boost

MEV-Boost is an open-source middleware designed for Ethereum validators to access a competitive market for block building. It allows validators to outsource the complex task of block construction to a diverse set of specialized builders, who optimize for profit through MEV extraction.

By connecting to a relay, validators receive pre-built blocks that maximize their potential rewards while maintaining the security of the underlying consensus mechanism. This infrastructure helps decentralize the block-building process, as it lowers the barrier for smaller validators to participate in MEV revenue sharing.

It represents a significant step in formalizing the relationship between validators and searchers, ensuring that block space is sold efficiently. The protocol effectively acts as an auction house for block content, balancing efficiency with network security.
