## Mempool Frontrunning

Mempool frontrunning occurs when a participant monitors the mempool for pending, high-value transactions and submits their own transaction with a higher fee to be processed first. By doing so, the frontrunner can profit from the price impact of the original transaction.

This is a common form of Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) in decentralized finance. It essentially exploits the visibility of the mempool to extract value from other users.

Frontrunning is a major concern for institutional traders, as it increases the slippage and cost of executing large orders on decentralized exchanges.
