Liquidity Concentration
Liquidity Concentration is a feature in modern automated market makers that allows liquidity providers to allocate their capital within specific price ranges. By narrowing the range, providers can earn higher fees on their capital because they are essentially providing more depth where trading activity is concentrated.
This improves capital efficiency significantly compared to earlier models where liquidity was spread across the entire price spectrum. However, it also increases the risk of the position going out of range, where it ceases to earn fees and becomes exposed to the underlying assets.
This requires active management and monitoring by the liquidity provider.
