## Governance Proposals

Governance proposals are formal requests submitted by community members or stakeholders to modify a decentralized protocol's parameters, treasury allocation, or code base. These proposals are submitted through on-chain or off-chain voting platforms, allowing token holders to express their preferences on the future direction of the project.

This process decentralizes decision-making, moving away from centralized corporate structures toward a community-led model. Proposals often undergo a discussion phase to refine the technical or economic logic before a final vote is cast.

Once a proposal passes, the protocol's smart contracts may automatically execute the changes, or multisig signers may implement the updates manually. This mechanism is essential for adapting to market changes, security threats, or evolving user needs.

It creates a dynamic environment where the protocol can iterate based on collective intelligence. However, it also introduces risks related to voter apathy and potential centralization of power among large token holders.
