Fundamental Value

Fundamental value is the intrinsic worth of an asset based on its underlying economic factors, such as revenue, growth, utility, and network adoption. In traditional finance, this is calculated using discounted cash flow models and financial statement analysis.

In the cryptocurrency domain, fundamental value is more complex, often involving the analysis of network metrics, tokenomics, and the utility of the protocol. It provides a long-term anchor for price, distinguishing between legitimate assets and speculative bubbles.

Investors use fundamental analysis to identify undervalued assets that have the potential for long-term appreciation. While market prices often deviate from fundamental value in the short term, they tend to revert to it over time as the asset matures and its utility becomes more evident.
