## Full Node

A full node is a program that fully validates transactions and blocks on a blockchain network. Unlike light clients, full nodes download and verify the entire history of the blockchain to ensure that all rules of the protocol are followed.

They maintain a local copy of the ledger, allowing them to independently confirm the state of the network. Full nodes are the backbone of a blockchain, providing the necessary infrastructure for security and decentralization.

By running a full node, a user contributes to the network's resilience against censorship and attacks. They do not rely on third-party providers for data.

They are essential for achieving true trustlessness in a distributed system.
