Floating P&L

Floating P&L is another name for unrealized P&L, referring to profits or losses on open positions. It is called "floating" because it changes constantly as the price of the asset moves.

This P&L can become real if the trade is closed, or it can evaporate or turn into a loss if not managed. It is a critical metric for monitoring the current status of leveraged trades.
