Exercise Value
Exercise value is synonymous with intrinsic value, representing the immediate profit that could be realized by exercising an option. It is calculated by taking the difference between the underlying asset price and the strike price for a call, or the strike price and the underlying asset price for a put.
If this difference is negative, the exercise value is zero, as the option is out of the money. Exercise value is a static measure that does not account for time or volatility.
It is the amount of value that is locked into the contract based on current market conditions. In the crypto markets, knowing the exercise value is essential for understanding the floor price of an option.
It helps traders distinguish between the tangible value of the contract and the speculative time premium.
