## Execution VWAP

Execution VWAP, or Volume Weighted Average Price, is a trading benchmark that calculates the average price of an asset based on both price and total volume over a specific time period. It is widely used by institutional traders to measure the quality of their execution compared to the broader market.

By executing trades at or better than the VWAP, a trader ensures they have not negatively impacted the market price with their own volume. In the context of large crypto orders, using VWAP-based execution algorithms helps in spreading the trade over time to minimize slippage.

It provides a neutral, objective standard for evaluating whether a trade was handled efficiently. Traders often set targets to outperform the VWAP to demonstrate skill in navigating market microstructure.

It is a critical metric for both performance attribution and algorithmic strategy design.
