## EIP-1559 Implementation

EIP-1559 is the major protocol upgrade that overhauled the Ethereum fee market by introducing the base fee and burning mechanism. It was designed to solve the issues of user uncertainty regarding transaction costs and to make the fee market more transparent.

By decoupling the priority fee from the base fee, it allowed users to pay only what is necessary for inclusion while giving them a way to jump the queue. This change significantly impacted the economics of Ethereum, turning it into a fee-burning asset.

For traders, it provided a clearer understanding of transaction costs during periods of high market activity, although it did not eliminate the fundamental constraint of limited block space.
