Delta Analysis
Delta analysis in the context of order flow involves tracking the net difference between buying and selling volume at the market. It measures the aggression of buyers versus sellers, providing insight into who is in control of the price action.
Positive delta indicates that buyers are more aggressive, consuming the ask side of the order book, while negative delta indicates aggressive sellers consuming the bid side. This analysis is essential for identifying potential exhaustion points where a trend might reverse.
When price continues to move in one direction but delta begins to flatten or diverge, it signals that the move is losing momentum. Traders use delta analysis to confirm breakouts and identify hidden buying or selling pressure that is not immediately apparent in the price chart alone.
