Crypto Asset Lending

Crypto asset lending is a financial activity where lenders provide digital assets to borrowers through centralized or decentralized platforms in exchange for interest payments. These transactions are typically over-collateralized, meaning the borrower must deposit more value in assets than they are borrowing to mitigate the risk of default.

If the value of the collateral falls below a certain threshold, smart contracts or centralized systems trigger automatic liquidations to protect the lender. This model allows asset holders to earn yield on their idle crypto holdings while providing necessary leverage or liquidity to other market participants.

The interest rates are generally determined by the supply and demand dynamics of the specific assets within the lending pool.
