Cross Protocol Composability

Cross protocol composability is the ability for different DeFi protocols to interact and build upon each other. While this allows for powerful financial products, it also introduces significant risk.

If one protocol is compromised, the failure can propagate through all the protocols that rely on it. For example, a derivative protocol might use a lending platform's tokens as collateral; if the lending platform fails, the derivative protocol's collateral becomes worthless.

This creates a complex web of dependencies that is difficult to monitor and manage. The risk of systemic contagion is magnified by this composability, as the failure of a single smart contract can trigger a chain reaction across the ecosystem.
