Cross-Chain Asset Integrity

Cross-chain asset integrity refers to the assurance that the value and ownership of an asset remain consistent and secure when moved or represented across different blockchain networks. This is particularly challenging in the presence of forks or bridges, where the connection between the original and wrapped asset must be maintained.

Integrity depends on the security of the underlying bridge protocol and the consensus mechanisms of the participating chains. If integrity is lost, it can lead to de-pegging, where the value of a synthetic asset diverges from its collateral.

Maintaining this integrity is vital for the health of derivative markets and cross-chain liquidity.
