Bridge Validator Sets

Bridge validator sets are the groups of nodes or entities responsible for verifying and authorizing the transfer of assets between two blockchains. They operate the consensus mechanism that confirms the locking of assets on the source chain before allowing the minting of tokens on the destination chain.

The security of the bridge is directly proportional to the integrity and decentralization of this validator set. If a majority of the validators collude or are compromised, they can effectively steal the locked assets.

Many bridges use staking or slashing mechanisms to incentivize honest behavior among validators. The design of these sets is a trade-off between speed, decentralization, and security.
