Block Proposer

A block proposer is a specific validator chosen by the consensus algorithm to create and broadcast the next block of transactions. This role rotates among the validator set to ensure that no single entity can dominate the network or censor specific transactions.

The proposer collects pending transactions from the mempool, orders them according to protocol rules, and presents the completed block for other validators to attest to its validity. If the block is accepted by the majority, it is added to the blockchain, and the proposer receives a reward.

This process is central to the liveness of the network, as the proposer is responsible for ensuring that the chain continues to grow. Efficient and fair selection of the proposer is vital for maintaining the throughput and performance of the system.
