## Asymmetric Cryptography

Asymmetric cryptography, or public-key cryptography, is a system that uses pairs of mathematically linked keys: a public key for encryption or address generation and a private key for decryption or signing. In the context of digital assets, the public key is derived from the private key, but the private key cannot be reverse-engineered from the public key.

This one-way mathematical function allows a user to share their public address openly to receive funds while keeping the private key strictly confidential to authorize spending. It is the core security primitive that protects assets from unauthorized access.
