Algorithmic stablecoin pegs are economic mechanisms designed to maintain a stable value for a digital asset relative to a fiat currency or other benchmark without requiring full collateralization. When the price rises above the peg, the protocol incentivizes minting to increase supply and lower the price. When the price falls below the peg, the protocol encourages burning or redemption to decrease supply and push the price back up.
