Validator Deactivation

Deactivation

Validator deactivation is the process by which a validator node ceases its active participation in a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and withdraws its staked capital. This can occur voluntarily, through a formal exit process, or involuntarily, due to slashing penalties for malicious or negligent behavior. The deactivation process typically involves a cool-down or unbonding period before staked funds become fully liquid. It marks the end of a validator’s active role.
