Tokenomics and Yield

Yield

The quantification of returns generated from deployed capital within a financial system, yield represents the income earned relative to the investment’s price or value. In cryptocurrency, yield arises from staking rewards, liquidity provision, or lending protocols, often expressed as Annual Percentage Yield (APY) or Annual Percentage Rate (APR). Options trading generates yield through premium collection from selling contracts, while derivatives yield stems from the price convergence between the derivative and the underlying asset. Effective yield management necessitates a comprehensive understanding of risk-adjusted returns and the potential for impermanent loss in decentralized finance (DeFi) contexts.
