Taker Fees

Fee

Taker fees are transaction costs paid by market participants who execute orders that immediately match existing orders on the order book. These fees are paid by “takers” because they remove liquidity from the market by taking existing bids or offers. Taker fees are typically higher than maker fees, which are paid by participants who add liquidity to the order book. The fee structure incentivizes market makers to provide liquidity and narrows the bid-ask spread.
