Reinsurance Pools

Mechanism

Reinsurance pools are collective capital reserves formed by multiple entities, typically decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) or institutional participants, to share and mitigate large-scale or systemic risks. These pools essentially act as insurers for other insurance protocols or large individual policies, diversifying risk across a broader capital base. The mechanism allows individual protocols to underwrite larger policies than their own capital might otherwise permit. It provides a layer of protection for primary insurers.
