Real World Assets

Asset

Real World Assets (RWAs) represent tangible, legally-owned physical or financial items brought onto blockchain networks, bridging traditional finance with decentralized systems. These assets, ranging from commodities and real estate to debt instruments and intellectual property, are tokenized to enable fractional ownership, increased liquidity, and novel financial applications within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The integration of RWAs facilitates the creation of new derivative products, such as options and perpetual swaps, collateralized by assets outside the digital realm, thereby expanding the scope of decentralized finance (DeFi). Successful RWA tokenization requires robust legal frameworks, secure custody solutions, and reliable oracles to ensure accurate price feeds and transparency.
