Price Feed Attack

Oracle

A price feed attack exploits vulnerabilities within the mechanism supplying external data to decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts, particularly prevalent in cryptocurrency derivatives markets. These oracles, acting as bridges between on-chain and off-chain information, are susceptible to manipulation if their data sources or validation processes are compromised. Successful attacks can artificially inflate or deflate asset prices, triggering cascading liquidations and substantial financial losses for leveraged traders and options holders.
