Perpetual Protocol Platform

Architecture

Perpetual Protocol Platform represents a virtual Automated Market Maker (vAMM) system, fundamentally differing from traditional order book exchanges prevalent in centralized finance. This design utilizes a constant product formula to determine asset prices, mirroring the core mechanics of decentralized exchanges like Uniswap, but adapted for perpetual contracts. The platform’s architecture relies heavily on off-chain computation for price discovery and order execution, enhancing scalability and reducing on-chain gas costs, while utilizing on-chain settlement for finality and security. Consequently, this approach enables the trading of perpetual contracts with up to 10x leverage, facilitated by a unique insurance fund mechanism to mitigate liquidation risks.
