Long-Tail Asset Oracle Risk

Risk

Long-tail asset oracle risk refers to the elevated vulnerability of decentralized finance protocols when using price feeds for assets with low trading volume and limited liquidity. These assets are susceptible to price manipulation because a relatively small amount of capital can significantly move their market price on a single exchange. When an oracle relies on a limited number of data sources for these long-tail assets, an attacker can easily execute a flash loan attack or a large trade to manipulate the price feed and profit from derivatives positions.
