Instantaneous Finality

Concept

Instantaneous finality refers to the property of a blockchain or distributed ledger system where transactions are confirmed and become irreversible almost immediately after being processed. This contrasts with probabilistic finality, which strengthens over time. Such systems provide immediate assurance that a transaction will not be reverted or altered. This characteristic is often achieved through specific consensus mechanisms, such as those found in Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) protocols. It streamlines subsequent operations.
