Hardware Security Attacks

Vulnerability

Hardware security attacks target the physical layer of cryptocurrency infrastructure, focusing on side-channel analysis and fault injection to compromise private keys or sensitive cryptographic material. These intrusions exploit inherent physical limitations in hardware wallets, secure elements, or HSMs to extract secrets that would otherwise remain protected by software-defined protocols. By observing power consumption patterns, electromagnetic emissions, or timing variations, an adversary can derive sensitive information essential for unauthorized signing of derivatives contracts or blockchain transactions.
