Hardware-Secured Enclaves (HSEs) represent a foundational shift in cryptographic infrastructure, particularly relevant for cryptocurrency, options trading, and financial derivatives. These enclaves, often built using Intel SGX or similar technologies, provide isolated execution environments within a processor, shielding sensitive code and data from even privileged software, including the operating system. The design inherently limits exposure of cryptographic keys and trading algorithms, bolstering security against both software and hardware attacks, a critical consideration in high-value financial transactions.
