EIP-4444

Proposal

EIP-4444, titled “Bound Historical Data in Execution Clients,” is an Ethereum Improvement Proposal aimed at reducing the amount of historical state data that full nodes are required to store. This proposal suggests that execution clients should prune historical block headers and bodies older than a specific threshold, typically one year. The objective is to mitigate the ever-increasing storage requirements for running an Ethereum node, enhancing network accessibility and decentralization.
