Decentralized Governance Fragmentation

Fragmentation

Decentralized governance fragmentation describes the dispersion of decision-making power across multiple, sometimes competing, groups or factions within a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) or blockchain protocol. This often arises from diverse stakeholder interests, differing technical philosophies, or a lack of cohesive leadership. Such fragmentation can lead to gridlock, inefficient resource allocation, and a diminished capacity for unified action. It impedes strategic progress.
