Block Reordering Attacks

Mechanism

Block reordering attacks represent a specific form of transaction manipulation where a validator or miner alters the sequence of pending operations within a block to maximize personal profit. By intentionally shifting the position of trades, an attacker can front-run or sandwich legitimate investor orders, effectively altering execution prices for their own benefit. This practice exploits the inherent transparency of public mempools, where incoming data remains visible to network participants prior to formal finality.
